Structurally Unsafe Basement in Huddersfield in need of Underpinning
This job was broken into two stages. Initial work took place outside on the drainage around house. The top water was not being managed efficiently partially due to the existing drains being blocked and also the lack of a land drain this was putting extra pressure on an already flooding basement. New drainage was laid and the area around the house was re-flagged. Once the outside work was complete we moved onto tackling the basement. Channels were dug for the new drainage, which lead to a water pumping station. The foundations had been undermined by the previous owners and therefore required underpinning, supporting structural walls to be cast and replacement RSJ’s.
