Initial Survey to Completion

At STONEDRY we don’t sub-contract, unlike some other basement companies, so you will always have a single point of contact throughout the project. We are always here to talk through your conversion and we can arrange all the design, building notices (if required) and structural engineer reports along with a full range of building works (see additional services for details) which is all carried out by our team of professionals.  In most cases, including flooding basements work can be competed in as little as 4-8 weeks, so you will be able to enjoy your new living space in no time at all!

STONEDRY use high density Polyethylene Cavity Drain Membranes, which work by creating an envelope within the basement behind which the ground water enters as normal before being collected and efficiently dealt with through existing drainage or through the installation of a sump and pump.  These membranes are completely impervious to water, chloride salts and nitrates, etc. like a kind of ‘room within a room’ and because they provide such a highly efficient vapour barrier, there’s absolutely no risk of condensation, leaking or surface damage.

Cavity Drain Membranes also feature additional insulation properties which in conjunction with additional closed cell insulation help to transform a cold, dark, basement into a warm and cosy living area.

Primary heating including radiators or under floor heating can be installed just as in any other room and the clever use of lighting can be used to create the illusion of a bright, airy above-ground room even in basements without windows.  STONEDRY are committed to creating energy efficient solutions and primarily install LED lighting wherever possible.
