Project Overview
This unique cellar conversion in Holmfirth transformed a former vault space into a bright and imaginative playroom designed for family life.
The existing cellar featured a substantial safe door and secure vault structure, which presented both a challenge and an opportunity. Rather than removing these character features, Nigel and the team carefully incorporated them into the finished design, creating a truly one-of-a-kind space.
Today, the converted cellar provides a dedicated playroom and entertainment space for children, complete with themed areas, gaming space and plenty of room to play, learn and relax.

The Challenge
The existing cellar included a heavy vault door and secure internal structure which needed to be carefully relocated and incorporated into the conversion.
The space also needed to feel bright, welcoming and practical for everyday family use while retaining some of its unique character.
The Solution
Stonedry transformed the cellar into a warm, dry and fully usable family space using specialist waterproofing systems, insulation, lighting and high-quality finishes.
The original vault features were retained and integrated into the final design, creating a distinctive playroom that combines character with modern family living.
